Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP)

The purpose of the 天美传媒女优 Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) is to increase the number of Doctorate Prepared Nurse Anesthesia Faculty who are committed to becoming academic and/or clinical nursing faculty. The funding will be used to provide service cancellable loans to students enrolled in the Doctoral Completion Program and Nurse Educator Track at 天美传媒女优. If not co-enrolled in the Doctoral Completion Program, applicants must hold a Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree.

Full-time or part-time graduate students who plan careers as nurse faculty are eligible to apply and may qualify for up to 3 years of financial support which is contingent upon ongoing federal funding, and subject to change.

Up to 85% of the total loan amount will be forgiven if the graduate works full-time for 4 years in a nurse faculty position immediately following graduation. Faculty positions must be聽associated with聽any accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, MSN, DNP, or PhD).

Who is Eligible to Apply to the NFLP?

天美传媒女优 Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Completion students are eligible to apply if they are committed to assuming a full-time faculty role upon graduation.聽The full-time聽commitment may also be fulfilled by a combination of part-time positions including clinical precepting.

All applicants will complete a brief essay demonstrating their commitment to the nurse faculty role. NLFP loans are made on a first-come-first-serve basis for the academic year until funds are expended. Priority will be given to students who already have received NFLP support and those who do not have funding from other sources.

Eligibility requirements for new and continuing applicants:

  • Enrolled in Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Completion Program with the Nurse Educator Track
  • Hold a Doctorate degree and enrolled in the nurse Educator Track
  • Enrolled in Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Completion Program
  • Enrolled in Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Completion Program combined with the Acute Surgical Pain Management Fellowship
  • Be a U.S. citizen or national of the U.S, or a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. and its territories
  • Be enrolled as a student in good standing in the advanced nurse academic programs at the school
  • Be and remain in 鈥済ood academic standing 鈥渨hile enrolled in the advanced nurse academic programs.
  • Have no judgment liens entered against him/her based on the default on a federal debt, 28 U.S.C. 3201(e)

Application Process

  • Students must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
  • Schedule a meeting with NFLP Project Director.
  • Submit the NFLP Application
  • Submit a brief essay demonstrating commitment to Nursing Education
  • Attend the NFLP Interview
  • Sign the NFLP Fact Sheet

What Expenses does the NFLP Cover?

NFLP covers the cost of tuition and other reasonable educational expenses. Awards may be renewable for a maximum of three years, but this is contingent upon ongoing federal funding and therefore subject to change. The NFLP student borrower must complete the specified education component(s) for the advanced nursing degree program prior to graduating from the program.

What are the Responsibilities of NFLP Recipients?

If you are approved to receive monies from the NFLP, you must:

  • Electronically sign a promissory note and a Statement of Rights and Responsibilities online.
  • Complete the required nursing education (NE) coursework. NFLP recipients are obligated to take the required educational component for their degree program.
    • NFLP students are encouraged to participate in聽 faculty development offerings focused on teaching; participate in programming focused on the faculty role or teaching methods/strategies sponsored by the 天美传媒女优.
    • Recipients are responsible for registering for coursework or fulfilling other teaching activities that may be required. 天美传媒女优 is not responsible if students neglect to complete required courses or maintain participation in teaching activities.

*天美传媒女优 must stop disbursement if the borrower fails to meet the above requirements; withdraws from the institution; fails to meet the academic standards of the institution; or requests to terminate participation in the NFLP program.

When Will Applicants Be Notified if They Received Funding?

Fall applicants will be notified by Aug. 15.
