Types of Financial Assistance
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans
Loans are guaranteed by the federal government and are provided through the U.S. Department of Education. All first time borrowers must complete聽聽and complete a聽 for Graduate/Professional Students.
- Students enrolled at least half-time (4 credits or more per semester) may borrow up to $20,500 per loan period.
- Unsubsidized Loan fixed interest rate is 8.08% for loans borrowed between July 1, 2024 鈥 June 30, 2025, with 10 years or 120 months to repay the amount borrowed. Origination fee on loans made between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, is 1.057%.
- For each loan type, the calculated interest rate may not exceed a maximum rate specified in the HEA. The maximum interest rates are 8.25% for Direct Subsidized Loans and Direct Unsubsidized Loans made to undergraduate students, 9.50% for Direct Unsubsidized Loans made to graduate and professional students.
- Interest will accrue on loans from the date of disbursement and continue throughout the life of the loan.
- Direct Subsidize and Unsubsidized Loans have a six-month grace period before repayment begins after you graduate, leave school, or drop below the half-time enrollment.
- Interest is capitalized, added to the principal, at the time the loan goes into repayment.
Federal Graduate PLUS Loans
Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loans are made to credit-worthy eligible borrowers. All borrowers must complete a聽听补苍诲听聽every loan period Graduate PLUS funds are borrowed.
- Students enrolled at least half-time are eligible to borrow up to the聽Cost of Attendance聽minus any other financial assistance received.
- If you have an adverse credit history, you may still obtain a Graduate PLUS loan by
- obtaining an endorser who does not have an adverse credit history, or
- documenting to the satisfaction of the U.S. Department of Education that there are relating to your adverse credit history.
With either option, 聽must be completed by the Graduate PLUS loan borrower).
- Direct PLUS Loans fixed interest rate is 9.08% for loans borrowed between July 1, 2024 鈥 June 30, 2025, with 10 years or 120 months to repay the amount borrowed.聽 Origination fee on loans made between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, is 4.228%.
- For each loan type, the calculated interest rate may not exceed a maximum rate specified in the HEA. The maximum interest rate is 10.50% for Direct PLUS Loans made to parents of dependent undergraduate students or to graduate or professional students.
- Borrowers are responsible for the interest that begins accruing on the date of disbursement.
- PLUS Loans do not have a grace period; however, if you received a PLUS loan as a graduate or professional student, you鈥檒l automatically get a six-month deferment after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time enrollment. 聽No payments are required during this six-month deferment period when the student ceases to be enrolled at least half-time, before repayment begins.
- If you have an adverse credit history, you may still obtain a Graduate PLUS loan by 1) obtaining an endorser who does not have an adverse credit history or 2) documenting to the satisfaction of the U.S. Department of Education that there are聽聽relating to your adverse credit history. (With either option,聽 must be completed by the Graduate PLUS loan borrower).
- Interest is capitalized, added to the principal, at the time the loan goes into repayment.

Private Loans
Private education loans are privately loaned from lenders outside of federal loan borrowing. Private or Alternative Loans require completing a separate application, a credit check, disclosures and a聽Self-Certification Form. 天美传媒女优 encourages careful and thoughtful consideration before making any borrowing decisions. It is important to thoroughly examine all available options each time you borrow for a new loan period.聽 Terms and conditions for a Federal Direct Loan may be more favorable than the provisions of private education loans. The Financial Aid Office will not certify any amount that exceeds the cost of attendance聽per academic year.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) added a section to the Truth in Lending Act to require that before a private educational lender may consummate a private education loan for a student in attendance at an institution of higher education, the private education lender must obtain the completed and signed Self-Certification Form from the applicant. The school is required to provide the form upon request for students enrolled/admitted to 天美传媒女优 – Private Loan Self-Certification Form禄.

Outside Assistance
Students are required to disclose any sponsorship, scholarship, or tuition assistance received to the Financial Aid Office, as these will be considered in determining the total cost of attendance.
Scholarships offer a non-repayable method of funding your degree.聽 Sponsorships or tuition assistance can be sourced from various sources such as hospitals, corporations, and community organizations.
